Computer Vision – Pattern Recognition - Machine Learning

Summary

My interests are focused on pattern recognition and data analysis for applications on Computer Vision and Human Behaviour Understanding. I have worked on Image Processing for head pose estimation in CCTV systems, head and face tracking in medium-high resolution. I have worked with Patter Recognition and Machine Learning for Facial Expression Recognition, Cognitive Emotions Understanding and some work for pedestrian trajectory analysis.

The most relevant techniques that I have used for face tracking are Active Appearance Models, Active Shape Models, and Gradient Methods. I used for expression recognition techniques such as CBR, SVMs, Bayesian Networks, (TAN, DBN and HMM) and Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA). I have explored some techniques for dimensionality reduction and data fusion; for example PCA, LDA and CCA for analysing the transition of facial expressions into emotions and how to evolve from six basic emotions to much complex affective behaviours. I have experience working with C++ and Matlab. Toolboxes and libraries such as OpenCV, Netlab, Spider, BN Toolbox and Piotr’s Toolbox.
